LeadsMarket.com conducted a Consumer Survey in Canada wherein the participants were asked the question whether they had applied for a payday loan in the past.
The survey was conducted using Google Consumer Surveys in between the period of 12 to 14 September, 2013 and yielded 6,081 responses.
The data that was collected through this survey showed that 9.1% of Canadians have applied for a payday loan. Population of Canada in 2013 was 35.16 million people. 9.1% of 35.16 million is 3,194,100 people.
Men in Canada are more likely to apply for a payday loan than women.
The survey revealed that 12.0% of people belonging to the age group of 25-34 had shown an interest in payday loans and had applied for them in the past. This clearly shows that people in their mid 20s and 30s in Canada are more likely to apply for a payday loan.
The survey also showed that 16.7% of the people living in the North of Canada had applied for a payday loan. These results indicate that the people living in the North of the country are more interested in payday loans.
